    This is so much clearer and easier to understand than what’s written in the book. I was kind of dreading verbs since I remember them being a nightmare to conjugate when I studied French, but it looks so much simpler in Japanese. ^.^

    Yeah, the text is a bit off, here. Please ignore everything they say about “verb bases,” which I don’t think is a very helpful concept, especially since it drags you back down into the foul pits of romaji. And what a shame that they recommend learning *every* verb as a dictionary/formal form pair, rather than just learning the simple rules that cover most verbs. Bad, bad pedagogy…

    What about complex verbs ending in ぶ? 

    あそぶ まなぶ ころぶ
