I just downloaded the 'full genki' package, but I can't figure out how, if possible, to get it to display only the items I went through and tagged out of lesson seven. Any suggestions?

Podcasts

I had hoped to do the podcasts for the second semester as well, but had to give that up. This is my last semester of courses for my PhD, and things are just too crazy. In addition to my own courses and teaching two sections of Japanese, I will also take my comprehensive exams this semester. I'm also job hunting, doing some consulting work, and other things.

The podcasts take a lot of time to make (I estimate about 5-6 hours of work per 7-10 min podcast), and I just don't have the time to spare.

I hate leaving the project unfinished, but I don't know if I'll ever get around to it (unless the publisher is willing to pay for it =) ). Another project that I really want to start is writing a better Japanese textbook, and if I'm going to be developing JSL materials then frankly I would rather work on good materials for a good new text rather than good materials for an existing mediocre one.

So, sincerest apologies for a 中途半端 effort on the podcasts, but I will of course do my best to help independent learners through this site. Always feel free to ask about anything in the text that is confusing! (^^)

頑張ります

I'm working my way through lesson 6 at the moment, as December got a bit hectic. I'm also trying to learn the JLPT4 vocab/kanji -- I suppose it isn't surprising but there's a lot of overlap between it and Genki's vocabulary. For any who are interested, you can find Anki decks for each JLPT level in the shared deck browser.

By the way, were the Genkier podcasts only for the first semester? (sorry if I missed the announcement)

Thanks!

Thanks for the mini-tutoria, Iulius!

And good to see that you're still around! How is the Japanese study going?

wow!

Thanks Iulius! That worked great.

I appreciate the help!

Two Ideas

Go to Tools->Cram and type in your tag. This creates a new temporary deck with just the cards under that tag. That also means it won't save any of your stats to the original deck.

- You can also go to Settings->Inactive Tags... and choose all the "Lesson-X" tags except Lesson-7. I think this way would work better than Cram Mode unless you only want some cards from Lesson 7.

Tagging in Anki

Hi, Lucy. I'm sorry, but I haven't downloaded that deck yet, and probably won't have much time over the next few days.

Has anyone else had a chance to look at it?
